How can I check Steam servers status?

How can I check Steam servers status?

For the great majority of time Steam servers are working perfectly fine. Sometimes, they take the servers down in order to perform maintenance, e.g. patching software for security issues, updating operating systems or drivers, or installing new hardware. Although some downtime isn't planned. If they have an e.g. hardware failure, a problem with the network, or a problem with our point-of-presence provider the downtime just happens.

How do Steam problems affect me?

The most popular and immediate effects of server downtime are delayed and/or failed trades. Unfortunately, we don't have any control over this and the only thing the users can do is waiting. As soon as the situation is back to normal, you will be able to trade items.

How can I check Steam servers status?

Users can detect Steam servers' downtime via external software. Sites like steamstat.us or downdetector.com are very helpful with identifying and checking the current servers' status.
